lost in translation

worn-out streetlights

illuminate an isolated sky—

they welcome me home

in broken morse code

maybe you are waiting for me

among the starry flashes,

dots and dashes—

the spaces between letters and words.

and though i am weary,

i will read between the lines,

deciphering and decoding

each desperate plea

to see you again.
