Lost Under the Streetlight
Tv and computer screens,
She was clicking and searching for the beauty queens.
While on the inside she was screaming “Why aren't they looking at me
And seeing the inside of my being!”
Forced into outfits and pushed further than she wants,
While men stand by yelling things that stab her like burning rocks.
She longs for the day she gets the opportunity to run away
But how could she leave when she works around the clock.
She wakes up to sex, then make up to look best, and the streetlights come next.
No future to dream for and no family to leave for because
She wakes up to sex, then make up to look best, and the streetlights come next.
She searches in the mirror to try and comprehend
But shes sees nothing but a harlot and her life in a bend.
Feeling his clenched her heart drops with fear
“You're no beauty” he mocks but she doesn't let him see the tears.
Up in heaven strong thunder and lightning interrupts
And the king cries out "Please daughter just hold your chin up."
Because in the meantime she is a princess because her daddy is the king.
She the air the the throne but she still thinks she is unclean.
Because some stupid boy told her she an item to be used
And now every inch on her body is nothing but bruised.
He told her she was nothing and incapable of love
So he snapped both her wings so she would become a useless soiled dove.
He used her for nothing but lust and control
However he had mention nothing of he black and hardened soul.
So now she is alone with the world to blame,
Living a life, the same things happening day after day.
She wakes up to sex, then make up to look best, and the streetlights come next.
No future to dream for and no family to leave for because
She wakes up to sex, then make up to look best, and the streetlights come next.
