Lost For Words

Lost For Words

By Matthew Laurent

A writer lost for words

Trying to come up with a new verse

Every story has been told

Even the new stuff I write feels old

I'm a writer lost for words

I'm trying my best to be creative

Trying to make sure every word have meaning

I need new ideas

Something or Somewhere

My pen is waiting

I'm a writer lost for words

My best ideas come when I have nothing to write on

Sometimes I can just write away

Most of it won't see the light of day

I thought my my mind was like an open door

But I'm out of ideas and can't write like I was hoping for

Do I need fears and dislikes to be able to write

I'm a writer lost for words

It feels like a constant battle

Every time I write a verse

It feels like having missing pieces in a puzzle

Sometimes I'm a writer lost for words

To be honest, this was my first poem in a long time.

I had no idea what to write, trying to come up with a new verse or even a topic was difficult it was like solving a puzzle cube with each part a different shape.

I had no idea how to start, and that how my poem started I just started to write about how I was "lost for words" and had no idea how to make it new and fresh like other poems.
