Lost Years

> Forever mine, > Forever yours: > words littered on > innocent shores. > > Those promises > collapsed by waves, > when washed away, > they've carved our graves. > > You throw me back > to times of dark > when all I dreamed > had bore love's mark. > > But in my wake, > I knew the risk > of your sham charm. > It's electric. > > Sure, we were young > and clung to love > that soothed our pain, > souls empty of > > tender songs that > had shut our eyes > from cruel misdeeds > to soundless cries. > > Although I know > no world binds > my greatest wish, > my love still finds > > a way to hum > this incomplex > and ebbing thought: > "I love Alex"
