Lost You, Lost Me

My Beloved Grandmother,

It has been far too long

Since I have sat in this chair.

It has been far too long

Since I have picked up a pen.

They wouldn’t allow me

To sit in this chair.

They wouldn’t allow me

To pick up a pen.

How long has it been?

One year?

Two years?

Five years at least.

You were taken from me

Far too soon,

Or was it that I

Was taken from you?

I can’t remember the day

On which it happened.

But maybe you could.

Do you remember?

It happened so fast,

But it’s all still a blur.

They just wouldn’t stop.

I just couldn’t stop.

So I have one question

That I need to ask.

Do you miss me?

Like I have wanted to miss you?

They will never allow me

To miss you.

They will never allow me

To send this.

From Up Here,

Your Lost Granddaughter
