Loud

For every great scholar,

Philosopher,

Leader,

And countless other individuals that have been permanently etched into history

If for every one that said,

“To listen to greater than to speak”

Someone did, then perhaps change would be attainable.

To create world peace, well, that’s a powerful dream

To create equality, well, that’s a wonderful goal

To inspire and lead, well, that’s a beacon of light in the dark, where no one will stand up to such a challenge against all the monsters of the world and against all odds.

It’s very easy to be loud, and boisterous, filled with passion for the world, but

It’s very hard to listen.

There is no society that changes without first changing itself, starting with one person, self-aware, realizing they are human, realizing they are

Flawed,

Realizing they are part of this global epidemic of noise and selfishness, and instead of

Retaliating in spite and hatred, in speeches and arguing

They listened.

Maybe then people would see their dreams as a reality.

Listen,

And then perhaps a loud silence will overtake instead.

and then perhaps people understand beyond the scope of themselves.
