loud music and empty freeways

Sometimes all I really want to do is

put on my favorite playlist and just drive.

No destination, no place to arrive

Finally relaxing after a long day

Maybe some slow jams or some chill reggae

Loud music and empty freeways

Clear the mind and help you convey

Thoughts inside you cannot comprehend

On the outside you just pretend

That you can handle this, just grip

The wheel tighter and let your mind roam

There’s something peaceful about driving alone.

Looking forward into the dark unknown.

I wish these high beams could illuminate the journey ahead,

Breathe easy, ruminate the future instead

I long to know, but it’s never revealed

Tomorrow is hidden and will remain concealed

Windows down, and the speakers bumping

No talking, just musical healing

Turn it up, I miss that feeling

Loud music and empty freeways
