Love
Me and Love have been playin’ hide and seek for years
Waitin’ for that moment where I open the closet door and,
Love looks at me suspiciously, then we both smile
And I say “I found you”
But I haven’t quite found Love yet
You see, Love is smart, unique, quick
And as time ticks Love just sits
Waiting for me to find Love
But love is too good
And I have to get better
And every time I submit
Where Love hides weighs down on me like a bag of bricks
I search high and low, in every branch lined with sticks
But once again Love is unique
Never in the same place
Love is everywhere
Never seen like the air
But when the game is over you can’t help but stare
Love’s sight is too much to bear
Love is so beautiful; you want to hold Love in your arms, in your heart, in your soul
But you can’t, unless you win the game
So love leaves you with a hole
And when Love won’t play
There’s no purpose to the day
All you do is sit at the window and sway
Thinking of the perfect thing to say when Love finally comes your way
And there’s nowhere left to hide when we play
And I open the closet door
And I look at Love suspiciously, then we both smile
And Love says “you found me.”
