Love is...

Some say love is sweet.

Like sugar and honey.

It melts on your tongue like candy

Or maybe chocolate.

They delight in it--

day after day after day after day.

Love is wonderful.

Others think love is bitter.

Bitter, biting, clawing, hurting.

It destroys you from the inside.

"Love is a waste," they say.

Only because theirs' had been wasted.

Only because theirs' had been taken for granted.

Only because theirs' had been forgotten

and left alone to rot.

For days...weeks...and then months.

I say love is a flower.

If people just watered theirs',

they might not have died.
