For The Love Of
Because I love you I will be patient, I will be kind
I will look not with the eyes but with the mind
When Shakespeare speaks I will not hold it against you
That you do not love him with the velocity that I do
Because I love you I will give you back to your friends
I know that they will always be there when love ends
My hands will never find your skin in anger
I will hold you down and be your anchor
When things look bleak I will not quit
My love will not stray, go away, or split
This is the promise I am making
If you'll have me I am yours for the taking
For the love of all that is good
It will be healthy like all love should
