love

what is love,

but a foreign pain,

not yet known,

not yet gained,

sex and desire,

burning high,

waiting to end,

like a child's lullaby.

What is love,

but a sorrow awaiting,

slowly pacing,

quietly debating,

when to end,

what words to choose,

to cut all ends loose.
