Love Like This Is

Telling me you like my shirt

Asking to play fishermen with me

Sharing your cookies with me

And always giving me the first pick of crayons

Making sure you're fingers aren't sticky before you hold my hand

Holding down my papers when I use the glue stick,

Even though you know I will get it on your hands

Running to get the best ball for me at recess

Hugging me tight when I cry about my fallen block tower

And helping me tie my shoes,

Love like this is a child's love

Love like this is shown through small actions
