Love Is..

As a young girl, I remember being intrigued by such fascinations

And I was told love can build nations

But as I grew, I realized I had a preposterous expectation

My prince in shiny armor had long ago taken a vacation

Love is much more than any fairytale book has ever made it seem

It’s obviously not just some big dream

Arguments and disagreements could be more extreme

But, at the end of the day, you know you’re a team

And because I love you I promise to be there in your time in need

Because together we’re stronger and I know you agree

You don’t have to kneel and you don’t have to plead

Because I'll love you forever and that I decree

You always support me in what I believe

No doubt in my mind that you won’t deceive

And, if we disagree on our pet peeves

We will always remember just not to grieve

In a relationship communication is key

To talk out our problems and come to agree

Just be honest and always respect me fully

And then when we’re three, we’ll live happily
