Love
They say love is a gift, beautiful and bright
And where darkness prevails, it shines a new light
Or a passionate fire that blazes within
A virtue that conquers or borderlines sin
They say with love, a broken man becomes whole
They say that love can satisfy a lost soul
They say it’s a feeling so rich and pleasant
With an intense desire most have only dreamt
They say that love is difficult to obtain
But the sacrifices are well worth the pain
So how far will one go to retain this love?
Can it be worth a rejection from above?
The place above where this feeling first began?
Where an act of true love was done for all men?
They say that I’m headed for the place down below
Only because of this feeling in my soul
How can my love be damned if their love is blessed?
How can it come from the place where it’s banished?
If I’m damned, then it’s a sacrifice I’ll make
A sacrifice for love, the punishments I’ll take
I’ll never know Heaven because of who I love, they say
But it’s just a lie, with love, I see heaven every day
