love
love
Is that feeling I get looking at you
When you’re constantly on my mind
The thought of you draws my lips into a smile
It’s the flutter in my stomach when you give me that gentle smirk
Loving you feels is a refreshing day at the beach
It’s the freedom and trust I feel with you
My world lights up when you walk into the room
My heart smiles because you just understand
You’re the warm sunlight the streams into the room rousing us from a nap
The pale yellow that soft cotton shirt you love
It was the color of the mug I shattered on your kitchen floor
Standing there in the middle of the room covered with lemon tea
You were the innocent pinks of us laughing at childhood memories
The soft warmth of the blankets yanked around us to stay warm
It as the deep blush of my cheeks as you
Covered me in those deep rose kisses
It’s the sound of my favorite songs when I listen to them with you
How they haven’t sounded the same since you
None of our favorite foods have tasted the same
They are bitter in my mouth or so sweet it stings
It’s the deep reds of the anger you made me feel
You’re the warmth the spreads through my body as you made up to me
The hands that grabbed you and pulled you closer
It’s the maroon of the memories that are embedded deep into our subconsciouses
You’re the deep blue of the sky that night when we decided to set off firecrackers
The pale cold of the ice we had to use when I got burnt
That numbness that consumed me when you left after everything
You’re the blue of the night sky on our first date
Our love was the deep orange of the sunsets you would take pictures of for me
It was my fingers curled in your hair in the late evening sun
It was the freckles you teased me for in the summer but I knew you loved them
The leaves falling as I stare at you blankly because time has changed us so much
The love you made me feel was the deep indigo of late night drives
Base pumping and vibrating through the car as we pass glaring headlights
The high you gave me of sweet kisses between bouts of singing our lungs out
It was the black hole that used to be my heart before you left
You’re the tears I choke back when I let my struggles get the better of me
It’s the words that get stuck on my tongue, the words i swallow in fear
The devastation of the fact I will never be the same person I was before you
You are the words of my confession
