Love
You get down on one knee
Which makes waves of something too complicated to understand with words.
Something so powerful, yet so delicate. Almost like a connection between two opposite sided magnets
that even though attract, if applied too much pressure find themselves disconnected.
You open your mouth to say something-
But nothing comes to my ears because i’m too distracted by those lips.
Those sweet, sweet lips blind me with the memories we’ve had together:
Our first kiss, our first fight, our first “I love you’s”. But you are more than a memory; You’re the one. The one that tells me not just what I want to hear. The one that I trust. The one that I can talk to in the hard times. You are that one.
You sit on that one knee for what feels like an eternity. You take a deep breath and say “Because I love you.” Then out of your pocket you pull out a ring. The waves grow bigger and bigger. Almost as if there was a full moon shining out on us that has the power to make us one. Then I realise you explained the impossible. These waves can only be known as “Love”.
