Love Is...

Love is why I’m having a hard time writing this poem, because love can’t be expressed in a single poem.

Love is something that takes so much more than a few brave words.

Love is spending time together, simply because your presence seems to make the whole world fade away.

Love is worrying about your grades, your health, your day, because I want to do everything in my power to make them better.

Love is putting together a playlist of your favorite songs, because sometimes I can’t quite put how I feel into words.

Love is confiding in each other the deepest, darkest secrets not another soul on the Earth knows, and working together to bring light to those secrets.

Love is getting to know each other, what you laugh at, what you do for fun, what kind of music you like, and enjoying them together.

Love is being there for you when you are sick, sad, or lonely, because I can’t stand the thought of you feeling down.

Love is spending hours playing games, watching movies, or just walking around at night, because doing anything together is better than doing it alone.

Love is writing a song for you, even if it’s terrible and you laugh.

Love is drawing a portrait of you, so that every detail of your face will forever be a part of my memories.

Love is something that doesn’t occur often, which is why I want to enjoy every moment of us being together.

Love is complicated, deep, and powerful, I know this because everything in this poem, and more, still wouldn’t encompass it’s true meaning.

Love is why I wrote this poem.

On my way through High School, trying my best to earn scholarships and good grades. Hopefully along the way make some lifelong friends, and eventually graduate from the college that best suits me. Maybe one day I’ll work at Disney...
