Love

Because I love you I hold you tght to my chest

Stroke your hair while your crying,

Walk you to bed.

Because I love you,

I wake up at 4am,

To make you coffee

And to butter your bread.

Every time I hear your name my heart jumps a little,

Wriggles a little,

Loves a little more.

Because of you,

I know what love is

I can now love others,

I know love myself.

Because I love you,

I know every morning ,

When the sun rises,

My heart rises higher than the sun

A smile jumps to my face, like a race I’ve already won

Because I love you I no longer feel the pain

I let you hold on to me,

Because I love you…
