Love

Too tired for love
Too tired to make it
Too tired to nourish it
Too tired to fake it

I’ve been there before
You wanting me not
I can see now how painful that was
For that I weep, I am embarrassed , I am sorry
To be pushed away is a painful thing
To be needed, even more
But to want it and not get it is a deep knife cut

It’s so easy to look for it outside of you
You’ll find it in a bottle, a cookie, a pill
But to find it within is a steep uphill

What does it mean to love anyway?
No ones knows
But everyone feels it
In a bottle, a cookie, a pill
In you
