To Love

Dear Love,

Glittery and radiating

You dance like a peacocks final

Intoxicating I willingly drink you

I revel in your embrace

I worship your promises

I let your light fill my being until I too am glowing

I glitter and shimmer and dance and sing

I am euphoria

Then you change

Now hazy and like tar

You plop and you ooze

Your dance is unwholesome

You are sludge down my throat and you choke me

Your clutch is numbing

Your promises are broken

Your gloom encases me

I am sorrow

But a speck of glitter shines through the darkness

And I smile and endure
