Love

Love's definition is "an intense feeling of deep affection",
Much better than rejection, on so many levels.
Some of us should get a medal...
For putting up with the ones we love.
It's not easy carrying all of that emotion, and devotion,
when push comes to shove.
It's like being carried on the wings of a dove.

But be careful with feelings of the heart,
Because people come along just to rip them apart.
Not even carrying about what they have done,
Just to leave you stunned...broken and hurt.
So stay alert. No one's an expert, on these
affairs of the heart...
Love yourself first, that's the best start.

Then take it, one day at a time,
Until it grows and it climbs...then it grows some more
When you're ready for the real stuff, open the door.
Go on in...slowly now,
and here it comes...POW!

There it is again...like a long, lost friend.
Remember what we talked about?
Don't make me have to shout at you!
It's something we'll all go through
Many times in our life.
Don't let it cause strife.
Remember what I said...use your head...don't dread

living your crazy, wonderful life!

If it should continue to happen again, and again,
Then just make them a good friend.
You see, you have to start somewhere.
Besides, good friendships are rare...
And easier to deal with,
Because maybe "true love" is really just a myth.
