Love
She called me honey because I was sweet
Sweet was how she waltzed into my life with promises of the future
Sweet was how she roped me into her arms with gratitude
Sweet was how she used to be
Sweet coats the sour taste that must be swallowed
I could not swallow the fact that you were not as sweet as you claimed to be
I called her love
Because love isn’t always as blissful as it claims to be
