Love

Love is complicated

is it even possible to hate it?

How can you hate love

when hate is it's opposite

the same way you can make love

and not really want it.

why isn't it normal to love someone

who doesn't even know you love them?

It's like wanting someone to do something

and forgetting to tell it to them.

Love is impossible

but when it works it's unstoppable.

you get mad

cause it's your heart they stole

but to fall in love was always the main goal.

So you let it go

cause it's not on your terms

and then you want it back

but now it's passed your turn.

Love has a time limit

so you say you not ready

and then that's when you fall in it

gravity forgot me

I agree with you, those can be hard questions to answer, especially when a person is under the influence of love. I wonder what inspired you to write this poem and your poetic influences (hopefully not Carroll, Shakespeare, and Wilde). Did you have to revise your piece when you wrote it, or how much time did you spend on it? I have so many questions reading your poem, it is abstract (which is fine) but it reads in a similiar a journal entry would. Watch out for cliches such as "love is complicate" or "love is impossible", the idea of poetry is love is all these things, but what does the poet have to say in his/her own way. Repetition can be a good emphasis in poetry, but reread the piece and ask yourself "am I show the audience how impossible, complicated, or limited love is or telling them in a laundry list manner?" The characterisitc that differentiates a poet from everyone else is that a poet does not rant (unless for comedic purposes), but displays the experience. Continue to write and read the works of other poets. Q.V.
