Love

Love, hope, inspiration. The things of the past have drifted like the last breaths of so many leaders. It has proven faint in so many hearts of today. Only those with money claim the minds of the young and the struggles of the past have faded alike. Where have the brave souls of tomorrow gone? Are they shied away by the box of stereotypes they subconsciously live in? Are they starring alone at the face of society not knowing where to start, or are they conforming because in their mind their only peace is in heaven?

Today so much has changed and the pushing has ceased. Who are parents to show their children the government should take care of them? Who are they not to say “you can and must do better!”? Where are the inspirers of the family to remind them o the past- shackles, blood, tears, soul hymns and God? The youth of today need to be strong, breaking out of this new age of slavery. Do you think by standing in silence while allowing people to stereotype, do wrong, and give the necessities without work is okay? Do you think the thought processes will stop when we don’t strive to be individuals, but followers of the same oppressors with different faces?

Now these oppressors, do you still believe their skin is white? Do you recognize their skin tone has changed? Look down, that color is the new color of oppression- self oppression. You can be different, you can succeed! You are the one not breaking out of the box of stereotypes; yes, it may be a fight, but with God can you not achieve anything? With family can you not have the support- mentally and physically? Can we not be a greater people by not looking to blame others, but looking to fix ourselves? Things of good change are hard, Nelson Mandela, Malcom X, MLK, Rosa Parks, Harriett Tubman; they risked their lives for the greater good of all mankind. Instead of dying for the money, die for your future. Die for your brothers and sister s that want you to succeed. Die to uphold your family’s name and history, or more importantly, die so your name may be among History’s finest.

Motivation is a risk of everything unknown because with motivation, you must start with the truth:

1. Being right may mean standing alone

2. You do not need approval of others to prove you are as good as you know you are

3. You present is based on a past you have forgotten

4. You are more than what s others say you are and

5. You can change things because you are capable.

If you are happy where you stand in life, may my words not move you, but remind you how lucky you are. If my words prove true to your soul, may your dreams, aspirations, and goals be met by the grace of God, your home be praised for motivation, and the results be eternal. May the names of the past be celebrate in the future, for their fights and deaths are only in vain if not lived every day. I am only responsible for me, you for you, but we can pass a movement to change the nation, and possibly the world.

Stand up for who you are and stand up for who you want to be.

My favorite part of this poems is the reality that comes from it and the dimensions that make a person look at their life differently.

This poem is very special to me because I feel as if I am one with a silent voice, but so much to say. I want to drive others to know their full potential and go after their dreams because life is not to stop a person from achieving anything, but to make that goal more appreciated when attained. Thank you for reading!! If you know where else would publish this, I would appreciate it.
