Love
When it’s cold it’s like frozen steel
Sticking to my skin
Ripping it away in long
Painful
Agony
It’s cold fire
Burning to my bone,
Sucking all the warmth from me
Leaving me shaking,
Shivering on the floor
When it’s warm it’s like coming home
Being wrapped
In the softest blanket
After a terrible day
It’s safe
Warm.
Leaving me docile and content.
Comfortable, resting on the floor.
When it’s hot it’s a flame.
Blinding me
My skin crisping
Burning,
Flaking off to reveal
Phoenix in the flame.
Freshness and youth
Intensity to take my breathe
Away.
It leaves me shaking, weak,
heart pounding on the floor
Desperate for more.
