Love

Love.

Sudden…unexpected.

Lifting the heart

Out of the dark, empty crevices of life.

It breaks you.

Sticks its greedy little hands into your soul.

Pulling, twisting.

Until all that remains are shreds of who you used to be.

“Heartbreak will be painful”

They told you,

Wrongly.

Love is brutal.

Love

Is your worst enemy.

Changing you into someone

 You vowed never to become.

Altering

Everything you thought you knew about life.

Who you are.

Who you will become.

It all becomes muddled.

Your thoughts, your feelings, your dreams.

What did it do to you? This thing called

Love.
