Love
Love is gold that purifies through the flames;
It does not melt or burn but stands the heat.
Love fights despite hate’s constant arrow aims,
Advancing in battle when most retreat.
Comforter to the empty and broken,
Love gives without expecting a reward.
Listener even to words unspoken,
Love stays full but never stops being poured.
Real Love is not reserved for lovers back,
But Love loves the unloved and those in lack.
This Love does not judge with condemning eyes,
But this Love forgives and does not despise.
True Love costs everything; it is not free,
But Love paid the price on a crooked tree.
