Love

Love can be horrid

and love can be timid

When it blossoms it's pretty

but when it shatters it's a pity

Sometimes it's amazing

with compassion ablazing

Sometimes it's a mess

because on loves less

Sometimes it's horrible

minds are quite vulnerable

Sometimes it's depressing

the other stops accepting

The relationship's great

until it meets fate

Love becomes ajourned

for the lesson that's been learned

Love can be horrid

and love can be timid

When it blossoms it's a pretty

but when it shatters it's a pity

I love the repetition from the beginning and end, it shows how not just the beauty of it, but how it happens. It's a continuous cycle that happens over and over again, and despite all the horrors and heartbreaks you've described in between we still go after it again. I liked your rhyming and the way you set up the format for this piece, it gave it a certain flow. Thank you for sharing this poem.

Rebecca
