This Love

It only took

A few seconds

To watch our world

Crash and burn

Just a few seconds

To lose it all

Everything we built for years

You and me

Partners

Together

We both vowed forever

And now here we are

The lights burned out

And I'm already missing you like hell

I want you

To take me with you

When you leave

But I know

I can't go

You and I

We gave it everything we had

Through the good and bad

I gave you

All of me

I loved every part of you

I wanted nothing more

Then to finish this life

By your side

By sometimes

No matter how hard you fight

It will never be right

It could've fooled me

I had you in my arms

And my world felt easy

Running on smooth waters

I finally breathed

With ease

And sleep

Had never come so easy to me before

But now here we are

And I hate watching you walk out that door

I wanted this

I needed it to last

I believed in every word you said

And now all our dead promises

Rest in my head

I know

We had it good

For so long

I just wish it had been better

Stronger

I wanted you

More then I had ever wanted before

So to lose you

After everything we gave

Kills me

But I'll kiss you goodbye

One last time

I'll let you leave

Watch you go

Because I know

As much as I loved you

This love

Was only going down
