I hope you love me too

 

Its a familiar tune most of us sang or hummed back in elementary school

Although it was a big deal then

It's just a silly song now

 

How about the one about sitting in a tree? 

The one we all remember that spells out the word kissing 

Here is another word to spell out 

Equality 

E Q U A L I T Y is how the dictionary spells it

H A T E is a more common spelling 

 

Hate and Equality have no connection with love right? 

Yes it does

More and more people are hated or treated unfairly

All because of who they love

 

Love is the same 

It doesnt matter what color you are

It doesnt matter what gender you are

Gay, straight, bisexual, transgender

Love couldnt care less

 

What happened to

"I love you, you love me were one big happy family" 

 

Just because I love men doesnt mean my love is different 

Just because I say i am gay equality jumps out the window to drown itself?

Why does the fact of who I love mean I should be treated differently? 

Why does the fact that I prefer men as a man deprive me of the constitutional and natural right of equal treatment? 

 

Since when did the fact that I love men hurt you? 

Humph

Cant think of one right? 

 

So before you start shoving bible verses down my throat 

Take in the fact that before you knew I was gay I didnt hurt you or do anything to negatively affect your life

Take in the fact that if you decide that because you found out this piece of information that im all of a suddenly an unequal human and that you should do anything in your wellbeing to make sure it is know that im some peice of trash? 

 

Dont you remember just yesterday when I helped you with your math and today 10 minutes before class you texted me and said I got an A on my test 

 

why bring hate and equality together? 

Instead bring love and equality together 

Because we all love 

 

I don't ask you to agree with how I live my life. 

I dont care if you agree or dissidents with it

I care and ask that you take in the fact that I haven't changed 

I am still the same person I was before you found out I was gay

 

Roses are red

Violets are blue

I love equal treatment

And maybe you should too
