The Love
The love I have for him is uncontrollable
like I never understood life before I had a reason to look deeper into it.
He gave me something to grab onto like an anchor that never gives up
so I don't drown in the sea of nonsense we swim in every day.
Life before him was like a night sky with no stars
I had no light to guide me
I was stumbling every step I took
But for a star to be born one thing must happen
a gaseous nebula must collapse
so through all the stumbling I realized I must collapse,
I must crumble,
becuase it wasn't my destruction but that it was my birth.
He gave me the understanding that I wasn't fading into the Universe
but that I was being born into it.
I took one look at him and knew he was the perfect kind of understanding.
With one look my hollowness began to flourish with life,
the emptiness in my head seemed to dissipate,
and the loudness of the silence seemed nonexistent
like it never controlled everything in my life before.
The love I have for him, the love he gave me,
let me gain the ability to understand that the beauty
of this life does not consist in the things we cannot undo
but in the things that give us meaning in the present life we are living.
This is the kind of love that gives this life empathetic meaning.
