Love Again

Mirror, mirror, on the wall.

Can you please tell me where things went wrong?

I never thought our love could fall apart,

Yet I'm picking up the pieces of my broken heart.

I'm running from this shadow of unbearable pain,

feeling like I have nothing left to gain.

I can't stop the tears from pouring down my face.

I can't seem to find a way out of this dark place.

Was I crazy to thing that we were meant to be?

Was I a fool to let love blind me?

I always though it took two to tango,

but now I'm looking at love from a different angle.

Once upon a time our love was strong.

Now the nights just seem cold and long.

I can't help but sometimes think of him,

of how things were so much better then.

It's almost impossible not to cry

everytime I think about the day we said goodbye.

I'm trapped in this cage with bars of doubt,

wondering if I will ever find a way out,

hoping that my anguish will come to an end,

and hoping that I can someday love again.

They say "all is fair in love and war",

but I thought our love meant something more.

Instead I'm wiping tears from my eyes,

rivers that broke from the dam of his lies.

Now I'm looking for a way to replace

the smile that was once on my face.

If only I knew where to start.

If only I could find the last piece of my broken heart.

I hear them say that time will heal,

but time hasn't changed the pain I feel.

It hasn't healed the hole where Cupid's arrow had been,

and it didn't protect my heart from its heavy burden.

I gave you all of me, I held nothing back

and I asked for nothing in return.

I never thought you'd throw it all away,

but I guess I'm the one with a lot left to learn.
