A Love for All Seasons
Rose buds bloom lush in the Spring of new loves
When the tide of strong passions overflow
Lovers’ hearts fill with the cooing of doves.
But will brave confessions and heartfelt vows
Be swept aside by the ravaging flood
In the heat of passion at Summer’s height
Lust soaked bodies and desires we slake
As the Sun of o'r Love shines warm on us bright.
Yet love’s dreams are fragile, easy to break
And dreams beneath parching heat turn to mud
The turn of seasons when leaves start to fall
Is that time of year when passions run cool
Will love’s ardor droop, or will it stand tall?
Will loving hearts wither, will love turn cruel?
Can hot romance survive chill Autumn’s mood?
Winter’s the season when passion runs scarce
When life’s ill winds chill the love in our hearts
And lovers starve for a lover’s embrace
To feast on days when they could barley part.
Winter is the season when lovers brood
My love’s for all seasons: this I make clear!
In the Springtime, Summer, Autumn or cold
We’ll brave all the seasons throughout the year
As loving companions: loyal and bold.
So I’d love you; forever-if I could
