Love and Hate

I find myself again thinking of you.

My eye burn at the sight of your smile.

My ears ring from the sound of your laughter.

Your sweet words spark vengeful flames in my mind.

My anger builds, boils, overflows.

It spills from my eyes,

hot, stinging tears.

I hate you!

You, who tore my heart in two before stomping it into dust.

Why do I miss you?

You, who spit in my face and gave your heart to someone new.

Why do I love you?

You, who took everything and gave nothing in return.

I don't deserve you,

but I want you.

I want you to scream at me,

to strike me down into the dirt,

to break me until only pieces are left.

I hate you.

I love you.
