Love and Lust

Was it love or was it lust?

That is the question, asked by ourselves we must

This pretty young thang, she thought she was

Was it love or was it lust?

Twisting her pretty hair and battin’ her lashes,

Gracefully resting her hands on her hips

Her head held high and treadin’ so light,

You would think the Heavens spent time

perfecting such a treat.

she thinks she’s in love,

‘Cause of that boy of hers,

Ooo… that boy of hers,

Done made her feel like perfection

And filled her head with all those lies and affection

Um! He don’t want her for her.

Oh no, he don’t.

He been gazing at her body,

And the way she walk,

the way her clothes fit, like a glove…

so nice and tight.

Was it love or was it lust?

she wearing those clothes for his eye

knowing it’s going to get his attention.

So young and naïve

Well… He got her

By telling her all she wanted to hear

And asking her to prove her love

So they lay down

And afterwards…

Hurt, heartbroken, and used, deflowered.

thinking he loved her

she loved him

This pretty young thang…  Yea, she was!

Didn’t stop to think, was it love or was it lust?
