Love Around Me

Because I love you was mainly a lie in my eyes.

Of couse I was taught to love many others

by my kind mother.

But when the love was returned, it wasn't the same.

I didn't know what I was getting was hate,

but when I figured it out, it was already too late.

The boy who loved others became corrupted.

I lived a life that feared the dark,

in the end it left me with marks.

As I grew older, high school came.

There were many new faces all around me,

but there was no one that I really wanted to see.

In my first class there were people staring.

They tried talking

but I only felt like they were mocking.

They tried their hardest to get through to me.

In the end I decided to humor them with lies

but they knew the entire time.

They asked why I was always alone, so I answered.

"My family is full of anger and hate,

I was once a boy who loved to create,

but now I'm just like them."

They looked at me with sad eyes,

it was the first time I never denied.

"The only person who was there was my mother

because the hatred had covered the others."

I continued on, on how it ended up getting me.

"I lived in the dark with no one

it felt like my life was done."

They stopped me and took me by the hands.

"You won't be alone anymore,

because we'll be here now and more."

With those words I actually felt loved.

That broken boy didn't feel broken now,

I felt strong with them around.

Because I love you didn't feel like a lie now.

It seemed like a new beginning for me,

Because I love you was the reason I again could see

the love others had around me.
