Love between the Moon and Sun

Love and happiness

Best friends destined to reside in the day and night sky

Forever in the same place but never the same time

Cursed to try and catch up but always coming too late to indulge in each other’s beauties.

The shifting phases of the moon wait for no one.

So, when the sun finally has a chance to catch a glimpse of the moon’s elegance

It may not be the same moon.

While it confuses the sun, it will not stop the sun from forever wanting to simply hold the moon.

When is it time to stop the eternal battle of finding a balance love and happiness?

Some days love will outweigh earth’s itself and other days it will barely be enough to shine through the thinnest of fog.

While love might burn forever, in the forms of embers or of a massive forest fire, happiness cannot always keep up.

When happiness gets the opportunity to catch up, love might have changed

Leaving us to forever try and force pieces that no longer fit.

The sun will not be able to withhold its strength as loves burns holes in the walls of a home.

The moon will illuminate the holes by creating beams of light in an effort to recover the happiness that once filled it, only temporarily repairing the broken parts.

The damage will eventually burn down the house where love and happiness once found shelter.

Now leaving love and happiness to stand over the shambles, still on fire with passion, to wonder where it all went so wrong.

In pursuit of each other, the moon has disregard the love that lies within the stars

Just as the sun ignored the happiness that floated between the clouds.

When the loneliness becomes too much, the moon will fall in love again, as will the sun.

They both will wait for the fraction of time shared during the solar eclipse to whisper their final goodbyes as they pass by silently, unable to reach out for an unforgettable embrace.

Gracefully, but not painlessly, the moon will rise from the borders of earth with hopes of the future

The sun will sink into the horizon along with their regrets and pains of the past.

Both retreating to their own homes to lick their wounds, to try to heal, and to move on.

They will only be considered healthy when they no longer seek out each other in other things.

Only when they are able to look within themselves to find comfort.

No longer plagued by the difficulties of a doomed love.

While scars will always remain, the wounds will heal.

The sun will soon no longer try to manipulate the clouds into the shapes of the moon

The moon will soon no longer sings the same songs to the stars once shared with the sun

Now able to work in beautiful harmony, the moon and the stars serenate each other in the darkest, quietest moments of the night

The sun finally able to get lost in the clouds, able to bear witness to the love shared on the warmest days of summer.

Both relationships blessed with a fresh start.

The sun able to hold the clouds without fear of being left behind, allowing it to let go of the grasp of death.

The moon able to kiss the stars without fear of being burnt, allowing it to be captivated by the magnificent glow of acceptance.
