Love is Blind

She was 18 with interest, and thought she never knew love

So, of course, she fell for a boy who thought he had it all

Her family, being supportive, let him slip in

but the more time went by the changes started to settle in.

Ever since she was a young child, she was skown nothing but love

her family gave her everything, but to her it wasn't enough.

She believed in second chances, maybe a third, or a fourth

And alwasy saw the best in people even when she should'nt.

June 16th was the day it settled in

the fmailies small storm blew strong winds.

Warm smiles and happy hearts from a family once filled with love

falls apart.

Their baby girl leaves, but her body still remains

walking around like a zombie controlled by s different brain.

Their samll strom soon turns severe

as the troublesome boy crushes her spirit.

He broke her courage, her will, and her heart

leaving her alone... crying in the dark.

Once again he comes back and helps her pick up the pieces

only for them to be shattered into 10 million more pieces.

Her family cries and weaps with regret

for letting their baby girl be swept up into this mess.

She cries and creeps into a small depression.

She starves herself and looks for a new direction.

She asks him over and over to please let her go

only getting the simple response "no."

he says he cant let go, she's everything to him

and he says sweetly "I'm the only one that loves you, that why you can't leave."

She keeps falling for his lies stuck in this continuous time warp.

hurting herself.. losing her life support.

She's drowning and can't breathe

In need of a release from the pain and mental suffering.

It's now her own storm

a category 5 hurricane.

She created this with one thought on her brain.

Her parents are done, her brothers gave up.

Her car she loveed is in the yard with a "For Sale" sign attatched.

She no longer recognizes who she is

She no longer can see past the unfallen tears.

She wants to go home, but can't let go

She wants both relationships, but it isn't so.

She's given an ultimatum from her parents

"It's either him or us"

So she loook both ways and finally thinks for herself.

Support, respect, trust, and family

or

Manipulation, mind control, and arguments never ending.

It should be easy, but 5 months have been invested

So she looks up to the lord for her final guidence.

She sees her family waiting with smiles

then she sees him asking her to be his bride.

two future options

one must be picked.

Then she gets a phone call.

"Your grandaddy is sick"

She rushes home to find everyone together

and realizes this is where she needs to be.

So she runs to her parents and they embrace her and cry

and that's when knew she had to let go of that guy.

The storm finally settled after 5 long months, and she began to find herself again

She ask her parents why they never gave up

and they simply respond "Because I love you" and that was enough.
