Love Changed Because I Met You

Once a young girl

With an innocent, young mind

Love was just a word

You would utter to be kind

Boys would just say it

They only wanted one thing

My innocence left

But I gained pain that would cling

The word tossed around

Did it come from within their heart?

Finally I met you

I knew it was love from the start

I felt alone

Afraid to let you in

You showed me you cared

And you became my best friend

You stuck by my side

No matter how bad i’d treat you

You taught me kindness

Your love turned out to be true

When I was young

I was alone, I was blue

Love was scary

But love changed when I met you
