Love Changes

It is 2014. I am walking through my local park and studying every movement around me. I start with the wind. I see the effect it has on trees, bending them and breaking them with it's fascinating power. Then I proceed on to the panting animals. Because of the temperature, they are trotting around, licking up every puddle and body of water that's near. No matter how parched they are though, it doesn't refrain them from barking at every other creature that passes by. WIth every bark, they gain more and more of a dominance when they are sadly mistaken. We as humans will never let them know that though. That is the first obvious sign of the transformation this world has gone through. After the dog grows weary in barking and finishes up, I glide to the observations of humans themself. I watch as people pass with somber faces. I can see the weight of the stress resting on the mother passing with her stroller. I pass the couple that are running beside each other. Although they are connected through their strut, their hearts are so far. Our generation has come to a place where we have placed a pause on love itself. Because of the daily tasks we have to accomplish, we have grown tired and restless to the point where we have lost our zest for life and for others. Out of all the things that I could change in this life, I would change the surrender to love. I would invite everyone to put down all of their burdens and put down all of their failures, and say yes to love. Love is in and through everything when you pursue it. It is in the child's small fingers, it is in the pages of a book, it is even in your back yard as the squirrels are nibbling on acorns that fell from your tree. Look for love, pursue love. It won't come natural because of who we are as people, so latch on to love and never let it go.
