Love is Choice and Sacrifice

Like a skipping track of a record,

is the memory remembered

of the fool she was for the boy

who had no respect for her or others

In manipulation he blinded her eyes

To what she knew in her heart was right

As he waltzed away with her very life

And made her regret it every night

Now years down the road,

Married, healed, and freed

She looks beside her in the morning

To see the face of pure love sound asleep

He treasures her, trusts in her, and triumphs with her

Over both their rigid pasts

And together they communicate

To make their covenant last

She encourages him, respects him, and serves him faithfully

He pursues her, serves her, and gives his everything

Their eyes do not wander, their hearts do not question

For the love they say is true

Is displayed in selfless action

He does not demand, he does not force

She does not cripple, or coerce

Because of love, they sacrifice daily

And build up the other to live freely
