Love Conquers All

Her eyes are faucets

Her body trembles

Her mind races

Her breathing grows more rapid

"I'm not good enough,

I will never be good enough,

He will leave just like everybody else."

"Who can love somebody who is crazy?

They all said I was crazy,

They must be right."

Her words,

Her pleas,

Her sobs...

can not be heard.

Muffled by the trickling stream of the shower head

He sits outside the tub...

Silent.

He strokes her hair

He sings their song, quietly.

"Look at me, with your chin up." he tells her.

"Breathe."

In... Out... In... Out...

Ten minutes of breathing go by.

"Why did you stay..."

"Why didn't you call me crazy..."

"Why didn't you tell me to get over it?" she asked.

"Because I love you..."
