Love into Death

When I met her,
She was all dressed in fur
Eyes shining
We were dining
I bought her a ring
She made me her King
Soon we had a heir
He loved to stop and stare
As I used to stare at her
Everything became a blur
And now somehow
Death is begging me to bow
As I lay here on my deathbed
My mind flashed to when we were wed
Her, all adorned in white
Me, her shining knight
Then when she was yelling in labor pain,
Oh the fright
But she survived
And into the challenge of child rearing she dived
But now the world is fading
The reaper is baiting
And this time, I don’t think I’ll resist.
