Love didn't approach me
Love didn't approach me until the age of seventeen,
Young and worried for my future,
I had my baby while turning eighteen,
I knew you were the baby I would always nurture.
It was a boy, a baby boy that I will always love and adore,
Tiny hands, little toes, soft hair, with feeble feet,
Never had I loved someone so much before,
In bed, so warm, like a angel you sleep.
Nothing compares to the smiles you bring,
You melt my heart,
You're so beautiful, like the flowers that grow in spring,
Nothing will bring us apart.
My dear, you'll grow over these years,
But before that happens, stay small before I drop some tears.
