love of the fallen

I fell for the first time, unwillingly

screaming, grabbing at rocks, roots with no avail

i landed painlessly

and without fail

tears filled my eyes

i looked down at the cold dark ground under my toes

why? i wondered softly

i felt coldness

his eyes suddenly came into view

shocking me

now i fall willingly

smiling all the way down
