Love fever

My love for you is like a fever, and no I'm not talking about the part where you make me feel hot and cold each time you come around or you say my name or look at me or look my way when you're deep in thoughts as you often are. But, it's like the fever dreams where you and I ride through space on an ice cream cone, with sprinkles as our fuel, you make me feel as though everything is possible. Your smile sends shivers up and down my spine and it hurts so much knowing that you probably don't even think about me the same way. Or maybe you do but I wouldn't know because I know a crush comes unexpectedly, like a sneeze. The same way my heart skips a beat when you come around. So I stay high off this one sided emotion, I can never be too sure if you're it feeling too. I hope I can go to bed tonight and wake up with this feeling gone but I know, it gets worse before it gets better. I cough hard with the hopes of giving these words the push they need to find their way to my mouth and cover my mouth to mold them into sounds you find acceptable, I hope I don't trip over my words as my feet are frozen solid.
