Love At First Sight

Love at first sight

Something that only happens in the movies, only in fairytales , only in dreams

Love at first sight

Something that no one speaks about because no one experienced it

Love at first sight

Something that is unforgettable because he walked into my life and never looked back

At 11 years old people would tell me you’re too young, you don’t know what love is

Yes, I question myself because every person who’s been in my life has left

Every person that was meant to love me didn’t

Having family members who can’t spell your name right after 17 years

And your aunties that leave your father out of his fathers funeral because he’s a step child

Having your grandparents try and throw your parents in jail

People never showed me love

So your right how could I know what love is

To the person whose had my heart for as long as I can remember

To the person I put all my hope and dreams into

To the person that I love more than myself

To the person who finally loved me

Love at first sight

At 17 I never fell in love, I walked in love

With my eyes wide open choosing to take every step

Love at first sight

Being his first and last

Being his best friend and soulmate

Being his everything

I’m the one he looks for in a crowded room

Because I’m his love at first sight
