Love for the game

Fresh cut grass

short and green

laid out perfectly

as it would on the screen.

Red clay dirt

makes up the field

where players for years

have all kneeled.

White chalk lines

drawn out straight

on a diamond

where a pitch can determine their fate.

Four white bases

ninety feet apart

determines a champion

who plays with the most heart.

The best players

who eventually recieve fame

are the ones who

show a love for the game.
