Love in a glass

From the winery of antiquity, I tasted a wine Not brewed from the bitter tonic of a squashed vine Nor malted from the acrid cord of barley’s spine She was a calculated mixture of sweetness caramelised A cocktail of beauty served in a glass She wasn’t embellished in the dazzling glamor of a holy grail Nor baroque in the crispy sparkles of an American ale But like the wine in a chalice, glory she unveiled Put your kiss in a glass, I will never ask for wine Fill my palate with your subtle sweetness divine Let me feel the sizzling harshness of your tongue entwine For like a copious flow of saliva with an uncommon craving I yearn Let my mouth stroll through the gap of your teeth Let it part away the draperies veiling your heart Like sealed alphabets of words mailed to my heart I delightfully receive and stamp with the golden seal of my mouth. Your beauty is like a shadow that catches the eye Your gaze like the moonlight that nourishes the sky Your Grace fills the air like a puff of smoke from an Italian cigar Your taste like the wine at the wedding feast Jesus filled in a jar and I long for your touch like the French long for a seep of pinot noir. ........The end......
