Love is hatred

I spent my whole life thinking that two souls combined could be perfect,

so perfect that they could potentially last a lifetime.

Our heart is supposed to “jump out of our chest” when we know we’ve met the right one.

But what do we do after one decides that what you have is not enough?

I laid in my bed and listened to whispers coming through the wall,

whispers which weakened my body.

Words of hatred filled the air,

How could I breath something so contaminated?

My body felt sore, my parents were vocally at war, one wanted more.

I could have sworn we were okay as four,

but one of them questioned what for?

Now love brings nothing more than a broken soul.
